The Perioperative training line will provide you with the education at MacEwan University and the orientation hours to complete your certificate all while in a temporary line with benefits. This training is fully funded, and the only requirement is a desire to expand your nursing knowledge by becoming an operating room Nurse. Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre serves the community of Central Alberta. Our Operating Room consists of 2 OR theatres that specialize in General Surgery, Arthroplasty and Gynecology. Our multidisciplinary team includes Surgeons, Anesthestists, Perioperative Registered Nurses, ORTs, and support staff. As an OR Technician in the operating room, you will be responsible for providing nursing care through the perioperative phases. You will be responsible for both the scrub and circulating role. Strong communication and collaboration skills are important; problem-solving skills using critical thinking, time management and adaptability or imperative; leadership and conflict resolution skills are essential to this role.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
