Experience the unique rewards and challenges of rural nursing in the Innisfail Operating Room (OR) program as an Operating Room Technician. If you are a Licensed Practical Nurse who is Peri Operative trained who likes small town living, this position in Innisfail might be for you! This role is Monday to Friday with no on call responsibilities. The Innisfail Health Centre has an Acute Care department with 28 beds, Emergency Department with 10 beds and we have an Ophthalmology/OR department. This position gives you a unique opportunity to work to your full scope of practice in the Innisfail OR, pre/post op and PAC and be a part of the Cataract and Plastics OR program. Residents have easy access to the downtown and commercial areas, as well as several parks, playgrounds, bike/walking paths, year-round access to lakes, rivers and outdoor recreation. The town has 2 large grocery stores, several restaurants, gas stations, banks, various businesses, churches, several schools, an arena, curling rink and swimming pool. Within a half-hour drive are three beautiful lakes ideal for camping and fishing and the Red Deer River is 5 minutes away. Red Deer is approximately 25 minutes north of Innisfail and Calgary is approximately 50 minutes South.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Post-Grad Perioperative Certification required. Operating Room Technician certificate required or Completion of a CLPNA approved perioperative course. 2-5 years\' experience in the OR setting. 1-3 years\' experience with Pre-Admission Clinic, pre/post op care. IV Medication Administration. Ability to start IV effectively. Preferred Qualifications:

Cataract and plastic surgery experience preferred. Connect Care Training.
