Your Opportunity:
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the experienced perioperative Operating Room Technician (ORT) has focused skills in a variety of services that include Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. Both scheduled (elective) and unscheduled (emergency) surgery is performed and the position requires the incumbent to do on-call shifts. The ORT is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care during the perioperative patient experience in accordance with hospital policies and standards. The incumbent will work with patients during the perioperative phase of care and must demonstrate a professional, positive attitude, excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills when performing scrubbing and circulating duties in a surgical environment. The individual is able to contribute to quality initiatives and promotes a professional work environment at all times. The Active Treatment Center (ATC) Operating Room is comprised of 10 theatres primarily focused on Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology. The ATCOR is a busy and fast paced environment and does over 15,000 cases a year.
