Your Opportunity:An Operating Room Technician is required for the OR Level III, an exciting and dynamic 18-theatre Surgical Suite Unit. Challenging experience in neurosurgery, organ transplant, trauma, urology, plastic surgery, ENT, general surgery, and orthopedics will be provided to the successful applicant. The Operating Room Technician is an integral perioperative member of the patient care team. Assists with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Performs other related duties as required.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Current OR experience within the previous year in an adult OR environment with demonstrated scrub and circulating skills is required. Demonstrates excellent assessment, organizational and patient care skills with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills are required. Successful completion of Perioperative Nursing course is required or one-year current experience in an adult operating room in a level 1 trauma center is advantageous. Specific advanced authorization from CLPNA to practice in the operating room is required.
