We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team for 1 year term positions starting January 2025. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in surgical nursing and demonstrate proficiency in various clinical skills. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes during surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in the Operating Room setting, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Practice within the guidelines of ORNAC standards.
Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgical procedures.
Collaborate with the surgical team to facilitate efficient workflow and effective communication.
Administer medications and IV infusions as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
Conduct thorough patient assessments pre- and post-operatively, addressing any concerns or complications.
Participate in patient education regarding post-operative care and recovery processes.
Engage in continuous professional development through training on new technologies and practices within the operating room.
Requirements
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Minimum 2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting is essential; Orthopedics, Plastics, and Pediatric experience are assets.
Strong clinical skills including IV insertion, medication administration, and airway management.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
Critical care experience or familiarity with acute pain management techniques is advantageous.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while providing compassionate care to patients.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Pay: $47.00-$51.00 per hour
