POSITION TITLE: Operating 3rd class engineer

SHIFT: Day / Evening

STATUS: Full-time

LOCATION: Cornwall, Cornwall, Ontario, CA

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Chief operator, the Operating Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing the industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, operating and repairing boiler and steam systems and combined heating, ventilation and cooling systems.

Main responsibilities

• Operate automated control systems;
• Monitor and inspect plant equipment;
• Measure temperature flow and pressure;
• Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunction;
• Troubleshoot, perform corrective action or minor repairs as required;
• Perform routine equipment maintenance;
• Clean and lubricate machinery and components;
• Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities;
• Write plant or building operation reports;
• Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures.

Hiring Salary 33.65$

REQUIREMENTS

• Operating Engineer Certification, 3rd Class or Operating engineer 4th class with a Refrigeration \xe2\x80\x9cB\xe2\x80\x9d ticket;
• Must be proficient in the use of the Refrigeration Code and ensure proper handling of equipment and hand tools;
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints;
• Experience with computerized control systems, high and low pressure boilers, pumps, compressors, motors, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, meters, ammonia refrigeration, cooling towers, HVAC, electronic controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Freon Refrigeration Air Handling Units an asset.
