What will you do in this job?
  • Guide: someone who leads a group though an experience.
  • An Open Top Touring Driver Guide is more than just a guide - they are memory makers, experience developers, purveyors of passion, time travelers and smile providers.
  • Greeting guests, welcoming them onboard and ensuring their safety.
  • Understanding of tour route and content, to deliver a unique interpretive experience in a fun and engaging way during 90-minute loops.
  • Communicate with the base and coordinators, while staying on time and to schedule
  • Ensuring that all guests are accounted for at any stops.
  • Act as an ambassador of Pursuit, the town Jasper and Open Top Touring
  • Completing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections at the compound
  • Being attuned to weather patterns and determining canvas roof requirements \xe2\x80\x93 safely removing or installing roof as needed and storing properly. Some heavy lifting required.
  • Internal and external cleaning of vehicle at end of each day and practicing proper storage of vehicle and supplies.
  • Wearing a uniform unique to the time-period, while using provided props and materials to bring content to life.
  • Adhering to driver logs and safety requirements as per Transportation Canada
  • Following all instructions regarding operations from base and coordinators
  • Performing ticket sales, retail sales of merchandise, while operating Point of Sale system and cash handling including cash ins/outs.
  • Preparing for tours including printing passenger manifests, preparing beverage service and cleaning/sanitizing vehicle.
  • Assisting with other roles within the Brewster Transportation department
What skills and experience do you need for this job?
  • An interest in tourism/hospitality and the Canadian Rockies
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, animated, outgoing, fun and energetic personality.
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience in group management and conflict resolution.
  • Organized, punctual, work well under pressure, guest-focused, positive attitude, and good communication skills.
  • Work well independently but also in a team setting. Ability to be autonomous.
  • Passion for travel and people with a knack for storytelling
  • Knowledge of Canadian History an asset, but not mandatory
  • Acting or theatrical background an asset, but not mandatory
  • Safety minded with a Class 4 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license \xe2\x80\x93 this is a commercial license for 24 passenger vehicles. Driver training will be provided, as well as assistance in obtaining a Class 4 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Will provide full training for right candidate.
