Missions and Responsibilities

The main objective and purpose of this position is to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on several APSA units to ensure reliable nitrogen supply to our customers, all while promoting ALC's quality and safety objectives.

APSA units are installations that produce pure nitrogen through cryogenic distillation.

Job description:

  • Travel is required to work on customer sites.
  • Autonomous work is required.
  • The installations are often outside. Working partially outside is required all year round being exposed to climate and weather.
  • Is available outside of office hours to respond to emergency calls.
1 or 2 calls per week can be expected on average.

Time will be divided over following responsibilities: * APSA maintenance (70% of the time)
  • Complete preventive & corrective maintenance on the installations.
  • This includes maintenance on rotating equipment, replacing filters, calibrating instrumentation, replacing relays, fuses.
  • Troubleshooting issues by reading P&ID and electrical schematics.
  • Cryogenic vessels - maintenance (20% of the time)
  • Several installations in the South Eastern Ontario region
  • Tanks for nitrogen, oxygen, argon, CO2, hydrogen.
  • New Installation / repair (10% of the time)
  • Brazing on pressure piping for new installations or repair
Quality/Safety:

Actively promotes ALC's safety and quality objectives.
Maintains a clean work area as well as any other area, which may be assigned.
Maintains an accurate and organized inventory of parts in the shop and service car.
Respects & follows all procedures as indicated in the ALC Quality Manual.
Ensures the appropriate corrective and preventive measures are in place in order to answer customer complaints.

Competencies and Profile

REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed HVAC, electrician, instrumentation, pipefitter with 1-3 years experience
(or equivalent by 5-10 years of experience without being licensed) * A Valid Driver's License and Driver's Abstract must be provided
  • Experience with cryogenics is an important asset.
  • Experience with brazing is an asset.
  • Languages: English
  • Successful applicants will undergo Criminal, Medical and Employment checks.
