The Opportunity
We are looking for an
On-Site IT Support Specialist
to join our
IT Team
at CUPS.
The On-Site IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing hands-on technical support and maintenance of CUPS' IT systems, devices, and infrastructure. In this role, you will support daily technology operations, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with device setup and management, and maintaining secure and reliable access to IT resources.
You'll work closely with the IT Manager and the external Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure smooth system operations, timely issue resolution, and consistent end-user support. This role also assists in implementing system upgrades, documenting IT procedures, and providing on-site technical assistance to CUPS staff. You will play a key role in maintaining the stability, security, and effectiveness of CUPS' technology environment.

Starting Salary:

Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing and maintaining Windows servers and workstations.
Support user account creation and permission management in Active Directory.
Perform regular updates and patches to ensure system stability and security. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
Provide technical support to end users, including troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Deploy, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and other IT equipment.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, IT procedures, and user guides.
Participate in IT initiatives such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
Act as an internal subject matter expert on IT services, acting as point person for internal troubleshooting needs for all workers and increasing IT tool proficiency within the organization.
Create and maintain strong relationships with CUPS leaders and departments, providing efficient and effective IT support across the organization.
Support productive organizational relationships with CUPS' nominated MSP.
Employment Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience providing IT support in a professional environment.
Successful candidates must complete a Police Information Check
What You Bring:
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365, or similar) are considered an asset.
Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows operating systems desktops and servers.
Experience with Microsoft 365 Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune administration.
Understanding of Active Directory user and group management, permissions, and policies.
Basic knowledge of network configuration, IP addressing, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with PowerShell for scripting automation and system administration tasks.
Understanding of IT security fundamentals and best practices.
Experience with software application installation, deployment, setup and configuration.
Strong ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
Work Conditions
