We are seeking knowledgeable and committed
Online Tutors
to join our team. In this role, you will provide virtual academic support, explain key concepts clearly, and guide students toward achieving their learning goals. To learn more about our company, visit www.scholara.ca.
Subjects in Demand
Mathematics (all levels, including high school & university)
Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
English (reading, writing, essay support)
Test Preparation (SAT, ACT, EQAO, etc.)
Additional subject expertise is also welcomed.
Duties
Conduct one-on-one (60 minutes each) tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and motivation.
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
Utilize various teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
Maintain professionalism and punctuality.
Requirements
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a classroom setting.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and parents.
Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding of their unique learning needs.
Ability to create a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes academic growth.
Familiarity with educational materials and resources relevant to the subjects being taught.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
Strong academic background in your subject area(s).
Reliable computer, internet connection, and quiet workspace.
Availability for consistent weekly or bi-weekly sessions.
Must successfully complete a
Police Vulnerable Sector Background Check
prior to tutoring with Scholara.
Compensation
Starting pay:
$30-$35 per hour (per session)

Opportunities for rate increases based on performance, subject expertise, and tenure.
Scheduling is based on student demand and tutor availability.
All tutoring sessions are conducted online (independent contractor position).
