Online IELTS Test Prep Tutor

to support students in mastering the key skills required to succeed on the IELTS exam. In this role, you will guide learners in building confidence across listening, reading, writing, and speaking, while helping them achieve their target band scores.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

IELTS-Focused Curriculum Development

Design and deliver a structured IELTS preparation curriculum aligned with official exam requirements, supporting students at different proficiency levels.

Skill-Based Instruction

Teach engaging lessons targeting all four IELTS skills--Listening, Reading, Writing (Task 1 & Task 2), and Speaking--ensuring balanced improvement in each section.

Test Strategies & Exam Techniques

Instruct students on effective IELTS-specific strategies, including time management, question analysis, band descriptors, task response strategies, and common pitfalls.

Practice & Mock Exams

Provide regular practice exercises, section-based drills, and full-length mock tests to help students improve accuracy, pacing, and exam readiness.

Speaking & Writing Feedback

Deliver detailed, constructive feedback on speaking performances and writing tasks, with clear guidance on improving coherence, vocabulary, grammar, and task achievement.

Progress Monitoring

Track student progress through assessments and performance reports, adjusting instruction and strategies to support continuous improvement.

Learning Resources Support

Recommend high-quality IELTS preparation materials and reliable learning resources to reinforce progress outside of class.

Supportive Online Learning Environment

Create a positive, motivating, and interactive online classroom that builds student confidence and encourages consistent participation.

Individualized Instruction

Identify each student's strengths, weaknesses, and target band scores, and provide personalized study plans and strategies to help them succeed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred). Proven experience teaching IELTS or academic English to teenagers or international students. Strong knowledge of IELTS exam structure, band descriptors, and scoring criteria. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and support learners. Patient, well-organized, and committed to student success. Ability to provide clear, detailed feedback for IELTS Writing and Speaking tasks. Passion for helping students achieve their academic, study-abroad, and professional goals.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 15 per week
