About the School

Toronto Science Academy is an accredited Toronto-based online high school offering Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) courses to both local and international students. Our flexible online model helps students develop strong communication and academic skills while earning credits toward their diploma.

Role Summary

We are seeking passionate ESL teachers to support high-school-level students who are developing English proficiency. The teacher will conduct live online sessions, assist students in improving their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, and evaluate progress using the Ontario ESL curriculum expectations.

Your Responsibilities

Teach interactive live ESL lessons twice a week using Zoom. Assess and grade writing, reading, listening, and speaking activities. Provide individualized feedback to help students build confidence and fluency. Adapt materials for different language levels (ESLAO-ESLEO or equivalent). Maintain consistent communication with students and staff about progress.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field. (required). TESL / TEFL / TESOL certification or equivalent training preferred. Experience teaching English language learners, preferably at the high-school level. Strong command of English grammar, pronunciation, and composition. Comfortable using online teaching tools such as Moodle, Google Workspace, and Zoom.
