The Oncology Nurse is responsible for providing holistic cancer care to patients over the spectrum of the oncology experience: assessment, intervention, treatment administration, coordination of care and follow-up in the ambulatory setting. The Oncology Nurse will participate in patient/family education, make pertinent nursing assessments, collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and provide appropriate interventions. Nursing staff work with cytotoxic and hazardous medications on a regular basis. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and training are provided.

Requirements:
Current registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or will be within 6 weeks
Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the applicable CCMB policy
Knowledge of Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
Proficient with computers, software programs and applications such as MS Windows/ Word/Outlook Satisfactory employment record
Must be able to legally work in Canada
Preferred:
Bachelor of Nursing
Three (3) years' experience within settings such as medical/surgical or ambulatory care
Knowledge and experience with oncology
Experience with electronic charting
Ability to speak French
Asset:
Certified Oncology Nurse [CON(C)]
Knowledge and experience with wound care
Knowledge and experience with patients receiving radiation therapy
Commitment to ongoing professional development
