Winter Snow Operators to join our winter maintenance team.
No previous experience necessary
MUST have valid G license and vehicle to get to site.
Should be within 30-40 minutes from Elmira.
MUST be able to work nights, weekends, holidays on-call during cold, snowy, winter months.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to snow and ice events when called in.
Operate snow removal equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, plows, and salt spreaders.
Clear walkways, driveways, and parking areas in compliance with safety standards and client requirements.
Pile snow in designated and approved locations only.
Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials as needed.
Perform pre- and post-event inspections of assigned properties.
Maintain clear communication with crew leaders, site supervisors, and dispatch.
Follow all company safety policies, including the use of PPE and safe equipment operation.
Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
Wash and clean trucks and equipment after each use to prevent corrosion, improve safety, and maintain a professional appearance.
Required Qualifications
Availability for on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays during winter storms.
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
Ability to perform physical labor in cold, snowy, and icy conditions.
Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, bending, shovelling, and working outdoors for extended periods of time and up to 15-hour shifts.
Personal mobile device with a data plan (500MB monthly) for communication and using our work apps.
Valid G driver's license and reliable personal vehicle to get to work sites.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Experience with plow trucks, skid steers, or other equipment is an asset.
Previous snow removal or landscaping experience preferred but not required.
Work Environment
Outdoor, physical work in cold, snowy, and icy conditions.
Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with potential for long shifts during heavy snowfalls.
