Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated On-Call Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide high-quality care and assistance

when coverage is needed

to two individuals in a private home care environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to improve the lives of seniors and individuals with through attentive caregiving and support. This role involves working closely with clients to promote independence, safety, and well-being, while maintaining a respectful and empathetic approach. Prior experience in senior care or dementia care is highly valued.

Please note the household does have a cat.

Job Specifications

On-Call Weekends and Weekdays as needed, AM/PM shifts $24.00/hour Minimum of 4 hours/week
Responsibilities

Assist clients with activities such as toileting, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring Support with meal preparation and feeding as needed Help with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment Offer companionship and emotional support to clients Assist with transfers and heavy lifting to ensure client safety Support clients with dementia by following personalized care plans Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with the family Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures
Candidates for the role will be required to have access to their own transportation/vehicle to the location.

Experience/Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is required Must be a Registered PSW Vulnerable Sector Check required CPR/First Aid Level C (CPR-C) is required Experience working with seniors with dementia is preferred Knowledge of medication administration and basic nursing skills Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities Relevant certifications or training in patient care or caregiving are beneficial
