JOB SUMMARY:
Under the day-to-day supervision of the Administrative Services Managers will perform custodial duties for the Caldwell First Nation.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Emergency Response & Specialized Maintenance.
Assess emergencies as they arise and take appropriate action
Perform grass cutting and basic grounds maintenance as required
Perform strip, wax, and buff floors to maintain floor quality
Provide specialized cleaning support for events and emergencies.
Routine Cleaning & Sanitization
Perform regular cleaning duties and sanitize high-touch areas once per hour throughout each shift
Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, and entrances
Clean and disinfect tables, kitchen areas, and all food preparation surfaces
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, office spaces, and all common areas
Disinfect garbage cans and dispose of garbage and recyclables properly
Inventory & Supply Management
Maintain inventory of CFN cleaning supplies and equipment
Refill paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, and hand soap in all dispensers
Regularly check supplies to ensure sufficient stock levels
Pick up custodian supplies as required
Coordinator & Communication
Follow the cleaning schedule and communicate with the supervisor when schedule changes are needed
Check in with supervisor at the end of shift to ensure all duties are complete
Check the event calendar and coordinate with the supervisor to adjust cleaning schedules based on building use
Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
General Custodian Services.
Perform additional duties as required to maintain facility standards
Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.

Maintain consistent punctuality and reliability for all scheduled shifts
Show attention to detail in all cleaning and maintenance tasks
Adapt to changing priorities and emergencies
Compliance & Safety
Must follow all Health and Safety Practices on the work site
Must follow all policies and procedures of Caldwell First Nation
Properly use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Adhere to all chemical handling and storage protocols
Qualifications
Experienced in custodial, cleaning, or maintenance.
Ability to assess situations and respond appropriately to emergencies
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and chemical safety
Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment, including floor buffers and carpet cleaners
Reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision
Strong verbal communication skills and ability to follow schedules
Demonstrated customer service skills
Understanding of confidentiality requirements
Experience working in a First Nations community as an asset
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, standing, and lifting
Valid G-class driver's license or reliable transportation
Additional Requirements
Mandatory confidentiality is a condition of employment for all Caldwell First Nation personnel.
Be able to work a flexible schedule.

Working Conditions:
Position located at Caldwell First Nation
Physical role requiring lifting to 40 lbs, bending, and standing
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and wet conditions
Indoor/outdoor work in all weather conditions
No guaranteed hours - schedule varies based on operational needs
Shifts may occur during regular office hours (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday)
Possible evening, weekend, and holiday work as required
Must be flexible and available for varying schedules
On-call basis with no minimum weekly hours guaranteed
