If you answered yes, our Chalk River location is looking for an Onboarding & Immigration Coordinator to be the primary point of contact for candidates, hiring managers, and internal HR and business stakeholders to provide a world-class onboarding experience for newly hired employees, contingent workers, Reach Back, Key and Non Key resources. What will you be doing!

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for hiring managers and candidates and other external resources (Contingent Workers, Reach Back, Key and Non Key)
  • Responsible for ensuring timely execution and completion of a seamless workflow for each new employee
  • Delivers the HR New Employee Orientation to Onsite and Remote workers and supports tasks as part of the Total Onboarding Program
  • Provides employee support as a Contact Centre HR Agent by receiving telephone calls, redirects calls as appropriate and/or responds to inquiries within scope of the general duties of the position
  • Provide human resources policy information and interpretations to collective agreements and/or legislation to internal customers on human resources matters including but not limited to relocation, compensation, recruitment and terms and conditions of employment
  • Act as liaison between new hires/augmented staff with requirements to enter into Canada including but not limited to accommodations, On Boarding confirmation and support. etc
  • Maintain detailed initial and ongoing case assessment for further processing or immigration strategy re-adjustment
  • Record case timelines and deadlines are recorded and required applications, additional documents submissions are being processed
  • In consultation with Team Lead and Immigration firm, research and prepare recommendations to present to recruiter and/or hiring manager immigration options / risks for foreign worker hires
  • Review and prepare case submissions in support of resources application. (Permanent Residency (PR) and Work Permits, etc.), Work Permit Application Coordination, Work Permit
  • Renewals, coordinate and inform internal and external stakeholders of updates (HR, etc.)
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality related to corporate, personal and sensitive information
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of pension, benefit and leave programs
  • Provides ticket management to the HR Service Delivery team
  • Maintains human resources records for employees by recording the hiring
  • Update benefits provider with new enrolments
  • Prepares various employment letters
  • Prepares onboarding packages and welcome kits
  • Drafts Communication to candidates
  • Tracking on onboarding metrics and compile reports
  • Tracking progress of new Immigration Files and work permit expiry dates
  • Track and report on onboarding survey results
What we are looking for:
  • Degree or diploma from a college or university program in the field of Human Resources or Business
  • CHRP designation (or working towards) would be an asset
  • 2 - 4 years of related Human Resources work experience or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Experience in a fast pace changing environment managing conflicting priorities
  • Must be comfortable presenting to large groups of employees
  • Strong customer service and leadership influencing skills in order to support client group priorities and present complex situations in a clear and simple way.
  • Impeccable organizational skills with high attention to detail in order to manage HR workflow process. Ability to establish work priorities and handle a wide variety of work efficiently and effectively combined with strong organizational and time management skills, being able to deal with multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines
  • Proactive, independent thinking, self-starter, demonstrating strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills along with the ability to positively motivate, mentor, build and maintain good teams with a collaborative attitude
  • Demonstrates responsibility and is accountable for accurately handling the details associated with one\xe2\x80\x99s work;
  • Conscientious about accuracy
  • Functional knowledge and proficiency with systems-based tools such as Microsoft Office
  • Must be aware of and embrace the ever-changing work environment and proactively make recommendations to change. Must be a \xe2\x80\x9cchange agent\xe2\x80\x9d who is willing to help others to accept and understand change, share their skills and proactively learn new skills
  • Ensures compliance with all processes and maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to consult, support and liaise effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge or the aptitude for applying the Immigration Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Citizenship Act.
  • Knowledge of CNL\xe2\x80\x99s security clearance requirements as they apply to candidates\xe2\x80\x99 traceable history
  • Knowledge or the aptitude of full cycle recruitment process is an asset
Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.

Location:

CNL works with employees across our Canadian locations to enable a hybrid workforce where possible. Our Hybrid employees work with their manager to establish expectations for when they will be on site vs when they are working from home.
