Duties

Prepare and serve high-quality Omakase sushi, ensuring freshness and presentation excellence Plan and develop diverse sushi menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and culinary trends Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in all food handling and preparation processes Select, prepare, and portion ingredients with precision, utilizing advanced knife skills Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service during peak hours Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of seafood and other perishable ingredients Educate staff on sushi preparation techniques and uphold the restaurant's culinary standards Engage with guests when appropriate, providing insights into the dishes served and enhancing their dining experience

Skills

Extensive culinary experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation Proven fine dining experience with an emphasis on presentation and quality control Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques specific to sushi making Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and catering within a restaurant environment Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating attention to dietary restrictions and preferences Excellent food service skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting Familiarity with kitchen operations, food industry standards, and culinary trends Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization
