to join our Oilfield Services team in Red Deer. The Field Technician will be responsible for supporting day-to-day field operations, ensuring safe and efficient service delivery, maintaining equipment, and adhering to regulatory and company standards. This position requires a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in challenging outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform field services including equipment setup, monitoring, operation, and maintenance.
Assist with rig-in/rig-out activities, casing running, and other oilfield service operations.
Conduct pre-trip inspections, hazard assessments, and ensure compliance with company safety policies.
Operate and maintain service equipment, tools, and vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and safety standards.
Complete accurate and timely documentation including field tickets, logbooks, pre-job checklists, and hazard IDs.
Collaborate with field supervisors, dispatchers, and client representatives to ensure smooth operations.
Identify and report equipment deficiencies or unsafe work practices immediately.
Work in various field locations across Alberta, often in remote areas and under varying weather conditions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience in oilfield services, drilling, or related field work is considered an asset.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Class 1 or 3 preferred) with a clean driver's abstract.
Safety certifications including:
H2S Alive
Standard First Aid & CPR
WHMIS 2015
Confined Space Entry & Fall Protection (preferred)
Ability to work extended hours, on-call shifts, and travel to remote locations.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
Physically fit to perform field duties including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors.
Commitment to safety and compliance with all industry regulations (OH&S, AB Energy Regulator, etc.).
