Job Summary

The job of the process engineer will mainly focus on taking existing facilities\' design and improving it making it more efficient, reliable and sustainable through the efficient utilization of fit-for-purpose digital technologies and solutions. The engineer\'s duties include developing new scientific methods for process enhancements. Develop various prototype models and administer all optimization from conceptualization to validation. Perform research on processes to design new optimization algorithms. The organization handles complex related process issues associated with hydrocarbon processing.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Multidisciplinary Teams:

• Develop strategies and implementation plans for improving crude quality, unit cost of production, energy intensity, and other critical operating parameters.
• Utilize PI Data analysis, data analytics, field visits, and collaboration with plant operations.
• Analyze operational challenges:

• Collaborate with other entities to find solutions and address challenges.
• Work with proponents to secure funding and implement solutions.
• Research and pilot test new technologies:

• Identify and explore available new technologies.
• Coordinate with departments to secure funding and conduct pilot tests in the facilities.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of SAOO operating dept. engineers:

• Identify challenges and limitations to meet production requirements.
• Develop short-term and long-term plans.
• Review the impacts of a 20-year forecast.
• Improve performance and reduce processing costs:

• Collaborate with Engineering Services and operating departments.
• Conduct optimization/debottlenecking studies.
• Assess new digital technologies.
• Present status and results:

• Communicate progress and outcomes of studies and initiatives.
• Report to senior management.
• Ensure presentations are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based (SMART).

• Bachelor\'s degree in chemical engineering (MS is desirable)
• Experience with process simulation tools such as ASPEN HYSYS
• Experience with produced water treatment and technologies
• Experience with crude oil processing, stabilization, and process gas conditioning
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Strong background in advanced mathematics and data analytics
• Strong background in process economics
• Ability to propose and deploy digital technologies/solutions and innovative ideas to enhance process operations
• Strong communication skills
• Strong planning and organization skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Capable of presenting clearly and effectively to senior management
• Ability to develop and coach young engineers
• Minimum of 10 years\' experience in the Oil & Gas industry operating facilities
• Recommended to have a Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices
• Preferred membership with internationally recognized technical societies
• Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in process design, assessments, studies, investigations, analysis, and optimization
• Ability to produce detailed reports and develop sound technical evaluations
