To date we have worked in 10 states in 4345 villages and impacted 4.43 million people in our three decades of existence. Who are we looking for? We are on the lookout for an Officer (Technical Engineer) who will be responsible for overseeing technical and engineering interventions in the project area. Their duties include planning and implementing watershed and water-related activities, assisting in the preparation of detailed project reports, monitoring and reviewing projects, conducting site selection, surveys, and designing soil and water conservation structures. They will attend and conduct meetings with various community groups related to water and agriculture, organize technical trainings and farmers\xe2\x80\x99 meetings, collect and manage project data and records, contribute to impact studies and documentation, prepare physical and financial reports, and build linkages between the community and government departments or other agencies. They are also expected to perform any other tasks assigned by the organization as needed. At WOTR you will
Be responsible for technical and engineering interventions in the project area
Undertake planning and implementation of watershed and water related activities and assist in detailed project report preparation process
Assist in monitoring and reviewing of the projects
Undertake site selection, survey, design, estimate and budgeting of the soil and water conservation structures
Attend and conduct meetings of Gram Sabha, VDC, SHGs, farmer groups, Water User Groups (WUGs) etc. in relation to water and agriculture
Organise/ conduct project level technical trainings and farmers\xe2\x80\x99 meetings for the farmers, village animators and VDC members
Be responsible for collecting and managing project data and records as prescribed
Organise and contribute to the impact study, case study, photo and other documentation
Be responsible for the preparation of the physical and financial reports of the projects.
Build linkages of the community with the Govt. departments and other agencies
Perform any other task assigned by the organization from time to time.
Apply if you have
Masters or Bachelors in Agriculture or Civil Engineering with 2-3 years of field experience
Any Graduate or Diploma in Agriculture with 10 years of field experience
Experience in the development sector, especially in soil, water and agriculture technologies
High level expertise in MS Office and other relevant software
Fluency in spoken Odiya. Understanding Hindi and English is desirable
The willingness to stay, travel and work in remote villages
Your own motorcycle/two-wheeler
