The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Municipal Law Enforcement, this role is responsible for enforcing the parking provisions in the Town\xe2\x80\x99s and Region\xe2\x80\x99s Traffic By-law. Officers are also responsible to provide public education, and awareness regarding these Traffic By-law provisions and the established municipal parking standards to ensure the traffic safety on municipal roadways. As the Officer, Municipal Parking Enforcement, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
Conduct investigations of municipal roadways for compliance with the parking provisions of the Town\xe2\x80\x99s and Region\xe2\x80\x99s Traffic By-laws. Direct vehicle owners of actions needed to be taken to rectify or correct a parking violation.
Prepare investigation reports and ensure electronic data is fully entered into parking infraction database.
Communicate with vehicle owners with respect to identified parking violations.
Attend/participate in meetings with clients or other internal staff.
Supervise Town towing contractors carrying out remedial enforcement actions by removing illegally parked vehicles.
Participates and makes recommendations in the process to improve and/or develop policies, practices and procedures that enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
The Ideal Candidate We are seeking an experienced professional with a post-secondary degree/diploma in Law Enforcement or closely related field, with a demonstrated interest in regulatory law. Our ideal candidate has 1-3 years related experience in regulatory law or enforcement. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated customer service excellence that reflects Caledon\xe2\x80\x99s quality standards: accurate, courteous, responsive, and easy to navigate. We are seeking an individual with superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to give, obtain, and/or exchange routine information. The successful candidate for Officer, Municipal Parking Enforcement will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required). This position offers a salary range of $68,350.55 - $82,513.23 plus a competitive benefit package.
