Position purpose:

Reporting to the Associate Supervisor, Athletic Event and Facilities Management, the incumbent supervises the daily operations of all activities held within the Recreation and Varsity Sports (RVS) facilities. They ensure facilities are operating effectively and securely in order to provide the best user experience. You will support all interrelated services that are responsible for delivery of various programs within the facilities, as well as supporting the clients who take part in those programs.

The incumbent\'s schedule includes evenings and weekends, and can be adjusted according to operational needs.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Install and secure equipment associated with each facility user\xe2\x80\x99s requests, including moving equipment (i.e., soccer nets, basketball nets), locking/unlocking rooms, and assisting with event-specific technology (i.e., score board, game clock). This includes proper storage of equipment when not in use and facility cleanliness.

Conduct visual inspections of facilities and equipment. Report damages and incidents through established reporting mechanisms.

Act as emergency first responder when necessary. Maintain First Aid, CPR and AED certifications always. Write and review accident/incident reports and identify patterns to reduce them, where possible.

Submit reports regarding issues, such as mechanical failures, abnormal ice temperature changes, critical accidents/incidents, as well as any other complaints related to the facility equipment to the appropriate sector.

Responsible for the opening and closing of sports facilities. Conduct access control to facilities following the daily schedule and bookings, or as needed. Ensure that doors are locked when facilities are vacant.

Welcome and accept deliveries, compare the goods to the packing slip to ensure the delivery is fulfilled and in an acceptable state. Notify the appropriate Manager and stores the delivery in the appropriate storage space until collection.

Oversee the proper storage and organization of sports services inventory. Maintain storage areas to ensure the proper and secure organization of sporting and event-related equipment. Ensure inventory and equipment is clear of common pathways and emergency exits, while maintaining a professional appearance.

What you will bring:

High School Diploma

Valid First Aid, CPR and AED certification from a reputable organization in Canada.

Experience in a sport environment is considered an asset.

Experience with various technology systems, including databases, email, internet.

Knowledge working with software related to facility management (considered an asset).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to take initiative

Ability to move and lift objects up to 25 kilograms.

Ability to communicate in both official languages is required (written, oral).

Ability to work outside normal working hours.

Bilingualism, French and English (spoken and written)
