The team at Burchell Wickwire Bryson LLP is growing! BWB is currently recruiting for an
Office Services Clerk
to join the firm on a
1-year contract
(with the opportunity for extension).
This is a fully
in-office role
, based out of BWB's new space at 1801 Hollis Street in
Halifax, NS
.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
An integral part of BWB's team, the Office Services Clerk will be tasked with duties and responsibilities related to general administrative, operations, and facilities support.
In particular, the successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Providing daily back-up coverage for the firm's Receptionist;
Monitoring the inventory of office / kitchen supplies, and placing orders with preferred vendors whenever necessary;
Ensuring the copy rooms throughout the office are organized and stocked with all necessary supplies;
Ensuring the kitchens and cafes throughout the office are tidy. This includes loading / unloading dishwashers and ensuring microwaves & fridges are clean;
Assisting the firm's Legal Assistants and Paralegals with large printing, binding, and scanning jobs;
Assisting with office and workstation moves;
Delivering mail to a central pick-up location within the building on a daily basis;
Completing deliveries within the downtown area (e.g., bank runs, court runs), as required;
Assisting with preparing and sending couriers, as required;
Assisting with ordering branded/logoed items from preferred vendors, as required;
Liaising with the building property manager for service calls, as required;
Acting as the main point of contact for issuing office access cards, parking passes, and the firm's transit pass program;
Various other administrative, operations, and facilities tasks / projects as assigned by the firm's Director of Operations, Senior Human Resources Manager, Accounting Manager, and/or IT Manager.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
If you are a dependable, client service-oriented professional with strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask, and a proactive approach to supporting daily office operations in a fast-paced law firm environment, we want to hear from you!
Previous experience handling reception duties, completing general administrative tasks, and having a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, would be considered an asset.
