The Camrose & District Chamber of Commerce is seeking a friendly, organized, and community-minded individual to serve as our
Part-Time Office Receptionist & Tourism Greeter
. This role is the first point of contact for visitors, tourists, and local businesses engaging with the Chamber. The successful candidate will create a welcoming environment at the Visitor Centre, support administrative operations, and help share our community story through light social media activity.
Key Responsibilities
Visitor Centre & Front Desk Support
Warmly greet and assist visitors, tourists, and community members.
Provide information on local attractions, businesses, events, and services.
Maintain a welcoming, tidy, and informative visitor space.
Support the daily opening and closing procedures of the Visitor Centre.
Administrative & Office Duties
Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
Respond to email inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with filing, data entry, mail handling, and record keeping.
Support Chamber membership administration as needed.
Schedule appointments, prepare meeting rooms, and assist with basic clerical tasks.
Communications & Social Media
Assist in creating and posting basic content for Chamber social media channels (e.g., visitor highlights, community events, member spotlights).
Capture visitor centre activity or local tourism features for social media use (photos, short videos).
Help monitor social media messages and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
Event & Program Support
Provide general support for Chamber events when needed (e.g., assembling materials, greeting attendees).
Assist with Tourism Camrose initiatives and promotions.
General Duties
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Represent the Chamber positively and uphold its mission and values.
Perform any other reasonably related duties assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications
Friendly, welcoming, and customer-service oriented.
Strong communication skills--both verbal and written.
Comfortable engaging with the public and promoting local tourism.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email, Microsoft 365/Google Workspace.
Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) is an asset.
Previous experience in reception, customer service, or tourism is an asset but not required.
Working Conditions
Some evening and weekend or special event work may be required.
Work is primarily performed at the Visitor Centre and Chamber office.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
