Founded in 1927 as the Edmonton and Northern Alberta Aero Club, the
Edmonton Flying Club
(EFC) is one of Alberta's oldest aviation organizations. It has long supported flight training and recreational aviation in Alberta.
Now based at Edmonton Parkland Executive Airport, EFC offers flight training from beginner to advanced levels and aircraft rentals. The club continues to foster a high standard of aviation education and continues to modernize and expand its programs and fleet for the future.
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Office Manager
to oversee our office operations and support our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrative tasks, bookkeeping and facilities management with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills to ensure the smooth functioning of the office.
Duties
Accounting & Financial Administration:
Supervise daily bookkeeping operations and provide leadership to administrative staff.
Handle bookkeeping tasks, including budgeting, filing, and vendor management to ensure financial accuracy.
Oversee payroll processing and maintain accurate employee records in compliance with company policies.
Develop and implement office procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity within the team.
Maintain organized records and documentation for easy access and retrieval.
Foster a positive work environment through effective team management and communication.
Facilities Management:
Manage facility access control, including key fobs and security systems.
Coordinate external contractors for the maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and facility upgrades.
Requirements
Degree, diploma or certifications in bookkeeping, business administration, accounting, or relevant field preferred
Proven experience in an office management role or similar administrative position.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Payroll Software is preferred
Strong clerical experience with a focus on organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff and clients professionally.
Familiarity with accounting and payroll practices is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy in work output.
