Office Manager

Chilliwack, BC, CA, Canada

Job Description

Job Overview

We are a growing agricultural installation and fabrication company serving farm and agri-business clients across British Columbia. Our success is built on reliability, teamwork, and doing quality work -- every time.

We're now looking for an experienced and dependable Office Manager to take ownership of the company's administrative, financial, and compliance functions. This is a key position -- the person who ensures that the business runs smoothly, deadlines are met, and the team stays organized and supported.

The company is led by a hands-on General Manager who is practical, field-oriented, and focused on operations. What's needed is someone who brings structure, order, and calm efficiency to the office -- someone who keeps the details under control so the General Manager and team can focus on the work in the field.

The Role

The Office Manager will be responsible for coordinating all office and administrative activities, including bookkeeping, payroll, health & safety, HR administration, and general company compliance. You'll also take care of the details that keep a business running -- from insurance renewals and vehicle maintenance to ensuring that schedules, documentation, and communication stay on track.

Responsibilities

Full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, and remittances; liaison with external accountant and CRA. Administration of employee records, onboarding, and timesheets. Oversight of insurance, leases, permits, and vendor accounts. Maintenance of the company's health & safety program and compliance documentation. Scheduling and coordination support for projects and service work. General office management -- ordering supplies, managing service providers, keeping systems organized. Supporting the General Manager with planning, documentation, and task follow-up.

About You

You are highly organized, proactive, and take pride in running an efficient office. You have strong bookkeeping and administrative skills, understand the importance of accuracy and deadlines, and can balance professionalism with a warm, approachable manner. You enjoy being the steady point everyone relies on -- the person who "keeps things together."

Qualifications

3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a construction, trades, or agriculture environment. Proficiency in bookkeeping and payroll (QuickBooks or similar). Solid understanding of employment and safety regulations. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A practical, can-do approach and the ability to work independently.

Why Join Us

A respected, central role in a growing and stable company. Competitive compensation and benefits. Opportunity to shape efficient systems and processes. A supportive work environment where your reliability and initiative are valued.
If you're the kind of person who takes charge, keeps things in order, and enjoys making a business run well, we would love to meet you.
