Hiring Unit:

Faculty of Arts, Development Office

Hours:

10-15 per week

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Development, Faculty of Arts, the work-study student assists with various administrative functions such as updating and maintaining information in the donor database, performing basic word processing functions, assisting with various events and providing additional support to ensure the smooth functioning of the unit\xe2\x80\x99s program operations.

Update and maintain various information in databases and spreadsheets (donor database, mailing list, etc).

Prepares documents such as electronic letters. Such preparation may include filing and sorting these items.

Prepares donor impact reports and helps send

Performs basic word processing functions such as merging thank letters and preparing large mailings (thank you letters, newsletters) by collating documents and stuffing envelopes.

Provides general assistance with donor events

Help assist with filing, shredding, and general office duties

Coordinate pick-ups on-campus and the Dean\xe2\x80\x99s Office for the Faculty of Arts Team

Online research into donors and prospects

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Must be a full-time McGill student enrolled in a Degree program.

Ability to work in a computerized office environment using Adobe Acrobat, Word (including mail merge), Excel, PowerPoint, email, and databases.

Ability to clearly transmit and receive information.

Organizational skills, attention to detail and sense of initiative. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.

Dynamic and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills.

Customer service experience is an asset.

Minimum Education and Experience: High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience

Hourly Salary: (AMUSE C) $16.50

Estimated Number of Work Hours per Week: 15 (Part time)
