Expected hours of work:

8:30am - 3:30pm. (30 minute lunch break) 6.5 hour work days Monday-Friday. No weekends or statutory holidays are required

GEM Services is a locally owned and operated pest control company based in Brandon, Manitoba. Servicing southern Manitoba, we provide preventative pest control services to industrial, commercial, retail, agricultural, and residential customers. At GEM Services our goal is to provide the highest quality pest control services to our clients. The Office Assistant will play a crucial role in keeping our office running smoothly, completing tasks in a timely, accurate and professional manner. The most important attributes a candidate can have to excel in this role is a positive upbeat attitude, ability to learn new tasks, organized, and a high attention to detail.

Role Responsibilities



Entering Invoices, printing off and filing technician daily reports. Entering and paying bills Maintain account balance between bank account and accounting software. Accept customer payments (Email, etransfer, credit card, cheque) Assist with accounts receivable process and keeping customer accounts up to date. Setting up new customer account information Scanning/attaching documents to work orders Submitting monthly payroll/income tax expenses Reconciling and paying monthly credit card statement Maintaining the office email and answering any customer questions regarding billing Updating Purchase Order #'s for customer accounts. Assist with monthly billing process. (Emailing, processing payments, mail) Completing and submitting monthly PST/GST payments Update and maintain accurate office training documents as office procedures change Assist with miscellaneous office tasks as needed
*The office assistant will be given the appropriate training and guidance to complete these responsibilities. This is a newly created position, and the responsibilities of this role will evolve as the office assistant becomes more comfortable with the day-to-day tasks.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications



General knowledge or experience using Quickbooks accounting software General typing/computer experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook email, and google sheets). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tasks being completed. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. A positive attitude and a proactive approach to work. Strong interpersonal skills across different modes of communication, in person, email, phone, text.

Renumeration/Benefits



Compensation: $23.50/Hour A positive attitude and a proactive approach to work. Strong interpersonal skills across different modes of communication, in person, email, phone, text. Vacation pay will be paid according to Provincial Employment Standards. Health & dental benefits available (50% covered by employer) No statutory holidays or weekend work required
