to join our heavy equipment operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely loading, securing, and transportation of heavy equipment, materials, and supplies between project sites. This role involves working in both
off-highway (resource road)
and
highway
conditions, often in remote or rugged terrain. Equipment is new and in well maintained condition.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate lowbed trucks to haul heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, dozers, graders, rock trucks, etc.) on and off public and resource roads.
Perform loading and unloading using winches and ramps as required.
Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment.
Ensure proper load securement in accordance with DOT, CVSE, and WorkSafeBC standards.
Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, and inspection records.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, mechanics, and job site supervisors.
Perform basic maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
Adhere to all company safety policies, environmental standards, and project procedures.
Support other equipment or logistics operations as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Valid
Class 1 Driver's License
with air brake endorsement.
Clean driver's abstract
(to be provided at time of application).
Minimum
3-5 years of experience
operating a lowbed unit in heavy construction, logging, mining, or oilfield operations.
Proven experience hauling oversized and overweight loads on resource roads.
Knowledge of load securement and transportation regulations (CVSE, NSC, DOT).
Ability to work independently in remote locations and variable weather conditions.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
Valid Safety Tickets
preferred (e.g., First Aid Level 1, WHMIS, TDG, etc.).
Physically fit for demanding outdoor work.
Assets (Preferred):
Experience operating other heavy equipment (e.g., loader, dozer).
Off-highway or logging road driving experience in northern or remote regions.
Ability to preform basic maintenance on Tractor and Trailer
Knowledge of Indigenous communities and local terrain (if applicable).
