As a Product Specialist, you tap into your entrepreneurial spirit and you will play a lead role in the development, growth, and profitability of your assigned Product Line. You know and understand our customers and their business and how to solve their greatest challenges - you will use your strong customer service and technical skills to plan, implement, and execute target marketing programs by working with key vendors, your Applied Team, and their customers.
Specific Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and provide support within the company for assigned branches with goal of growing profitable sales based on your area of expertise
  • Support duties may include, but not be limited to the following:
  • Providing product identification, product interchanges and crossovers
  • Providing technical sales support to other Applied personnel
  • Selection of preferred products and vendors
  • Providing assistance with Bids and Request For Quotations (RFQ’s) with the assigned region
  • Provide assistance to Strategic Accounts Group on RFQ opportunities as required
  • Assisting with sourcing difficult to find products, and helping improve lead times
  • Providing informal product training & guidance on market sell pricing recommendations
  • Participate in store room surveys and mechanical equipment surveys as required
  • Assisting with inventory sourcing and planning requirements for Applied branch and customer as required
  • Review sales data to make recommendations to align future sales with preferred vendors
  • Assist in negotiating Chargeback support with preferred and key vendors
  • Set up customer pricing
  • Trouble Shoot – including but not limited to product Improvements/Change Outs
  • Assist with larger Quotes for customers
  • Participate and cooperate with branch and corporate initiatives and policies such as:
    • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
    • Quality Management System
    • Company policies and proceduresMaintain up to date knowledge of company’s product and service offerings
  • Maintain and encourage respectful and diplomatic relationships across the company

  • Take personal responsibility for maintaining training requirements and professional development
  • Maintain high regard for safety and housekeeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Regional Manager

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications
  • Significant Bearing & Power Transmission industry and product experience
  • Post secondary education in a mechanical discipline or business is preferred, but not mandatory.

    • Vendors & customers
    • Company ERP system – SAP
  • Conduct all dealings in a professional and respectful manner as outlined in the company Code of Ethics

  • Ability to multi task with different customers, vendors and deadlines
  • Able to work in a team environment and utilize all available resources
  • Basic computer skills in – Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
