The Complex Care and Recovery Program is seeking a full-time, contract (until July 31, 2024) Occupational Therapist to work as part of a team to focus on the Social Determinants of Health. As a member of the team, the successful candidate will work to build the capacity of the community and clinicians within CAMH to respond to the housing, employment, income and educational needs of clients who have mental health and addictions issues. Accountabilities may include providing direct service to clients with housing, employment, income and educational related issues with the aim to improve the patient experience and successfully transition to the community; working with community agencies to develop innovative partnerships that create access for CAMH clients; maintaining and evaluating income, housing and case management partnerships that serve CAMH clients; contributing to knowledge exchange and development initiatives; providing training on the social determinants of health to CAMH clinicians and to the broader community; innovative planning and response to meet the Centre\xe2\x80\x99s strategic directions; identifying and responding to gaps in service; responding to CAMH clinician inquiries and consultation requests regarding services in a timely manner and participating in advocacy and inclusion initiatives. You will work with clients from diverse populations; contribute to program development; and participate in the research activities of the program. Candidates must be capable of providing supervision of Masters of Occupational Therapy students, collaborating with faculties of occupational therapy on special projects related to the development of the occupational therapy field, contributing to the development of best practices unique to the occupational therapy field and also teaching to other professionals. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position will be located at the Queen Street site.
Qualifications
You must be registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). You must possess a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Occupational Therapy (or a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Occupational Therapy plus a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in OT, Rehab Sciences or a related field), combined with a preferred three (3) years of experience working with individuals who have a serious mental illness. You must also have membership in either the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapy and/or Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy and be a holder of COTO\xe2\x80\x99s pre-requisite Professional Liability Insurance. You also must be eligible for adjunct/status-only appointments with university faculties associated with Occupational Therapy that has affiliation agreements with CAMH. You have strong group facilitation skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work within the inter-professional teams and to engage with clients, family members, and community care providers. Demonstrated ability to work with clients of diverse backgrounds is necessary. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $34.50 - $46.51 per hour
