Job Description

Temporary Full-Time assignment for approximately 12 months

Sinai Health is looking for an Occupational Therapist to support our

Rehabilitation and Inpatient Psychiatry department

at Mount Sinai Hospital. The caseload for this role will include patients across all acute care areas: inpatients on the Psychiatry unit with a variety of acute psychiatric and geriatric psychiatry conditions, general internal medicine, surgery, orthopaedics and emergency.

In this role you will:

Clinical Duties


Assess, plan and provide therapeutic intervention for an assigned patient caseload according to Occupational Therapy scope of practice Develop appropriate documentation of Occupational Therapy activities Record workload measurement Participate in inter-professional clinics and rounds Facilitate therapy groups Develop and evaluate programs

Teaching Duties


Participate in teaching activities for Occupational Therapy students, including provision of clinical placements, laboratory teaching, and classroom teaching Participate in teaching students from other disciplines Participate in development of student programs Provide in-service education as appropriate to colleagues

Research Duties


Participate in research activities as appropriate within the Department of Rehabilitation in collaboration with other departments/professions Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Mandatory


Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario

Preferred


Experience with administering cognitive assessments (MOCA, MMSE)

Skills and Knowledge


Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent occupational therapy clinical skills with a broad variety of diagnostic groups Demonstrated excellent skills in collaboration with inter-professional team Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
