Independent Contractor - Occupational Therapist





Are you a dedicated Occupational Therapist looking for flexible, meaningful work in the community? We are currently seeking a passionate and self-motivated OT to join our team as an Independent Contractor, providing client-centered care in home, school, and community settings.

About the Role



As an Independent Contractor Occupational Therapist, you'll conduct in-home and community-based assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support clients in reaching their functional goals. You may work with a range of clients, including: Pediatric clients (in-home or school-based services) Adults with complex medical or rehabilitation needs This role offers flexible scheduling, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of your clients.

Key Responsibilities



Conduct assessments of physical, cognitive, and environmental factors affecting a client's occupational performance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers, school personnel, and equipment vendors. Develop and implement client-centered treatment plans tailored to individual goals and environmental contexts. Apply evidence-based practice and critical thinking to support client independence and participation in daily activities. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Communicate effectively with clients and families to build trust and ensure alignment in goals and services provided. Stay current with best practices, regulatory standards, and emerging trends in occupational therapy.

Qualifications



Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province. ADP authorizer status is an asset. Experience working with pediatric and/or adult populations in home or community settings. Strong clinical reasoning, interpersonal, and communication skills. Familiarity with community resources and health services. Current CPR and First Aid certification (within the last 12 months). Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required. Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
