As our Occupational Therapist II, you will be working both independently and in close collaboration as part of a dynamic, inter-professional team including other allied health professionals, responsible for providing client centered care to adult patients. You will assess individual needs based on abilities, interactions and participation and follow-up with planning, implementing and evaluating safe quality programs aimed at enhancing optimal patient function. You will collaborate, and develop effective partnerships with other providers with a focus on prevention, protection, treatment and promotion for adults across the continuum of services. The successful candidate will have a broad skill set to meet a variety of patient\'s needs, and will share the responsibility for supervising level I therapist (e.g. OT I), mentoring therapy students and/ or assistants. Description:

As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for coordination of occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be providing coordination of the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will be participating in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will be making decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. As assigned, you will carry out the roles of a direct clinical service provider, consultant, educator and/or advocate in your program or service area.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master\'s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). Additional Required Qualifications:

Prior experience in a homecare setting is preferred.
