Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Manager of Child & Adolescent Addiction & Mental Health & Psychiatry Program (CAAMHPP), Specialized Services, the Occupational Therapist II - Complex ADHD Treatment Team (CATT) provides consultation to professionals and/or assessment of children and adolescents (0-18) with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive and behavioural disorders in the CATT. Service is provided in the context of family-centered care and may include liaison and collaboration with relevant community agencies, including schools. Responsibilities may include participation in case conferences, staff meetings, professional development and program evaluation as required, student education, and other related duties as required. Appropriate documentation and statistical data collection is required. A portion of this position will be dedicated to supporting the Psychosis Stream of Mood and Anxiety Service. Key CLINICAL Responsibilities: Determines need for OT services in collaboration with other professionals. Provides Occupational Therapy Assessment and Consultation. Works with other Clinic professionals to contribute to a mental health assessment and to provide clarity regarding a DSM-V diagnosis. Manages caseload effectively and works collaboratively with the family and other professionals in a timely manner to formulate assessments, meaningful case plans and facilitate referrals as requested. Explores presenting problem(s) from a client-focused perspective and assesses client\'s coping skills and social support systems. Collaborates with the family and community Service provider and other professionals to develop and facilitate the most appropriate service plan. The position is currently assigned to the CATT but may be re-assigned to any clinical service within Specialized Services according to Clinic need.Description:As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for the coordination of occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be providing coordination of the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will be participating in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will be making decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. As assigned, you will carry out the roles of a direct clinical service provider, consultant, educator and/or advocate in your program or service area.
