Addiction & Mental Health Supported Housing (AMH Supported Housing) is a fast paced and growing area within Recovery Alberta/AMH. We currently partner with several agencies in the Edmonton zone to provide a broad range of clinical services to the clients who reside in both our transitional and long term housing sites. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our team that currently supports the Ambrose Place long term housing site, operated by Niginan Housing Ventures. The position is both a consultative and case management position with room for the clinician to develop their own style of providing service. It works closely with an interdisciplinary team. It also works closely with agency site managers/ staff and requires an ability to collaborate with each site in care planning and service delivery. Our larger housing team has an experienced group of Occupational Therapists who support each other and there is opportunity for Clinical Supervision within our larger portfolio. Service delivery ranges across the spectrum of OT interventions, however, our priority is to provide clinical mental health and addiction supports to residents. Tasks can include mental health assessments, risk assessments, equipment assistance, functional and cognitive assessments and providing feedback to the team in case conferences. There is opportunity to partner with other professions to provide group activities as well.Description:As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will provide evidence-informed services, with a focus on occupational performance designed to meet the needs of individuals, groups, or a community. You may act as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate and function as an integral health care team member. You will engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations, including self-care, productivity and leisure. You will support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations. As an OT, you will provide comprehensive services, including triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, collaborative goal setting, treatment, prevention, self-management, education, case management, referral, transition support, and collaboration with relevant and chosen stakeholders and supports within the client\xc2\xbfs physical, institutional, cultural, and social environments. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. You will collaborate with clients and families in determining, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich support and engage in quality improvement by partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families, and other stakeholders to advance services for the clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community and participate in peer mentoring and supervising students. You may also provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides.

Required Qualifications:Completion of bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). Additional Required Qualifications:A Bachelor or Master\'s of Science in Occupational Therapy and registration with ACOT are required. Registration to be maintained through duration of employment. Current CPR (BLS Level C - Health Care Provider). NCI - Non Violent Crisis Intervention. Cultural competence and a commitment to ongoing reconciliation Flexibility, openness, and a desire to be a strong team player. Preferred Qualifications:3-5 years experience in a community mental health and/or rehabilitation setting preferred. Excellent communication and self management skills. Knowledge of Concurrent Capable practice. Knowledge of both Recovery Oriented Care and principles. Experience working with multiple stakeholders is an asset.
