We\'re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewProvides quality Occupational Therapy services, consistent with discipline and professional standards including: prevention, identification, evaluation, assessment, education, use of interventions and management of occupational performance components and performance areas; education and supervision of students and professionals; consultation with and referral to other professionals; and research. Maintains professional accountability, professional judgment and reasoning with a high level of communication and collaboration.As a team member of the Priority Home Service, the Occupational Therapist is primarily responsible for providing clinical services. The OT will: collaborate with the interprofessional hospital and community team and clients to support client\'s care needs; provide direct and indirect assessment; treatment; follow-up; planning and designing services to meet occupational performance goals; provide recommendations for client, family and team; assign tasks to a Rehabilitation Assistant (RA); complete ongoing monitoring of assigned RA program(s); support healthy client lifestyles, minimize further illness and disability, and provide advocacy where indicated. The primary goal will be to enable people to participate in the activities (occupations) of everyday life by addressing physical, cognitive, emotional, social and environmental barriers that make participation difficult.
