Job Description

Purpose Pediatric Therapy Inc. is seeking to hire an Occupational Therapist willing to work in the community and providing in-home support to families. Within this role, the Occupational Therapist would be providing services in-person and via tele therapy including assessment, consultation, and treatment for children with a range of abilities, in collaboration with families and community partners in a variety of settings including home, clinic and schools. This position will provide mentorship to expand your expertise related to occupational therapy services for children. You will have the flexibility to choose your hours and schedule sessions on dates that work best for you and the families you work with.

Purpose Pediatric Therapy focuses on family centered, play based Occupational Therapy services that assist with supporting families and children with self-help skills, fine motor skills, regulation, sensory processing skills, social interaction and play skills as well as parent training.

Purpose Pediatric Therapy can offer a part time position as an hourly contractor. New graduates are encouraged to apply, and mentorship will be available to expand your knowledge related to assessment, interviewing and intervention skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

-Graduate of an accredited Canada Occupational Therapy Program-Active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) and currently in good standing-Possesses professional liability insurance (min. 5 million coverage)-Current police record/vulnerable sector check-A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle and is willing to travel within Calgary and surrounding area -Highly professional, energetic, organized and motivated- Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Key Responsibilities

-Build rapport with clients and their families

-Set OT goals which are occupation focused and are targeted, measurable outcomesProvide direct service, consultation, assessment and education to client, family and community providers with a focus on maximizing a child's function in the areas of self-care; productivity (school and play skills) and leisure (community participation)

-Implement goals set in collaboration with family and be a strong communicator with the team members about collaborative goals.

-Provide guidance of OT strategies to family's developmental behavioral aide
