Through assessment, treatment, evaluation and consultation, the OT prevents, alleviates or minimizes dysfunction, enabling clients to achieve their maximum level of functional independence and facilitating their integration into the home, community and workplace. The OT on both the Inpatient and Outpatient Teams will: participate as a member of the interprofessional team with the purpose of assessing client needs; provide assessment, program planning, treatment intervention and evaluation in the occupational performance areas of self care, productivity and leisure including cognition and community living skills; collaborate with other care providers in providing patient centred care; delegate responsibilities to the occupational therapy assistant; prescribe of aids and assistive devices; educate student Occupational Therapists; participate in program planning and development in professional, program and hospital initiatives supporting quality management and research; demonstrate understanding of, compliance with, and commitment to, patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients; other duties as assigned.Qualifications
