We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will work with our clients to help children develop skills for daily living, focusing on activities like fine motor skills, self-care, sensory needs, play, and school skills, aiming to improve independence and self-esteem. You will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and collaborating with our SLP's.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments of client's physical, emotional, and social needs.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.
Implement therapeutic interventions to improve client' functional abilities in daily living activities.
Educate clients and their families about treatment options, exercises, and adaptive techniques.
Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
Skills
Proficient in medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
Strong case management skills to coordinate care across various settings.
Experience in patient care within acute care environments or pediatrics is highly desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively within a hospital setting while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and team members.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
Registration with COTO
Excellent assessment and intervention skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Excellent communication and analytic skills, with strong organizational abilities
Innovative and creative therapy skills to enhance engagement
Willingness to learn and collaborate with innovative therapy intervention
Have access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license
Completion of a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Proof of professional liability insurance
ADP authorizer status is an asset
