Thriving Kids London Pediatrics is hiring! This NEW and evolving role is an exciting opportunity for an OT looking to be a part of our Thriving Team to expanding and offering new programming for adults and older adults? This involves a leadership role along with our owner Heather Harris, Occupational Therapist.
At Thriving Kids London Pediatrics, we are expanding our Thriving Adults London division and you will be responsible for providing adult assessment, therapy interventions and evidence-based treatment options, and support to adults who may need support with physical, cognitive, emotional/mental health conditions.
OTs with experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and/or additional certifications in Psychotherapy will be an asset. Your primary goal as an OT in this role will be to help adults THRIVE at home and in their community, and to help to achieve their maximum potential in daily activities and improve their quality of life. In addition, there is also a role within this private practice to work with parents, as we have our Thriving Kids Pediatric team. This position could also offer a mixed caseload opportunity working with both children and adults if the candidate is interested.
Responsibilities: Conduct thorough assessments of adult's with physical, cognitive, and mental health conditions. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and share those results with others who may be a part of the adult's care team (as applicable). Provide one-on-one therapy sessions with adults in their homes and in the community to address physical, cognitive, and emotional/mental health skills, recreation and leisure, self-care, and other areas of the adult's concern.
Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to therapy. Monitor and document progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Offer guidance and support on best-practice strategies for home-based therapy and activities. Participate in Thriving Kids Staff Huddles and case reviews to discuss treatment plans and progress as needed. Stay up-to-date with the latest research and therapy techniques in adult occupational therapy. Maintain accurate and organized client records and documentation as per COTO regulatory standards. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions and activities as per COTO standards.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). 1 to 2 years of experience in adult occupational therapy is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of relevant legislation. Full-time or part time Independent Contractor positions with flexible hours. Work may be performed in clinical settings, client homes, and out in the community. Travel and having access to a vehicle is required for this position.
