This is a contract full-time position (35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm until July 31, 2026) supporting the Early Psychosis Intervention Team based out of 80 Waterloo Ave. Guelph and 67 King St. E. Kitchener.*
The 1st Step Team (Early Psychosis Intervention) supports young people (14-35 years old) experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Service is provided by an interdisciplinary team offering care along a standardized pathway, using a participant-centered approach. The successful candidate will apply a systematic, evidenced-informed approach to their practice to enable individuals to improve their function and engagement in the occupations of life; significant focus on supporting employment and education related occupational issues. Comprehensive assessment, treatment and evaluation will be key aspects of role. Interventions may include facilitating groups and individual interventions, as well as community liaisons and committee representation.
Qualifications:
Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy
Active member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Demonstrated commitment to professional development
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an Occupational Therapy role, with 1-2 years in a Mental Health environment
Demonstrated assessment, intervention and facilitation abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Organizational skills and ability to adapt to competing and changing priorities
Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook and internet based tools
Experience working with clinical software (Case Works) is an asset
A valid driver's license, vehicle and insurance, as travel is required

CLASSIFICATION AND RATE OF PAY: Level 6 (OPSEU) - $36.72 to $44.76 per hour
