We are looking for a talented OBD Certification Engineering Lead - RAM Platform to join our team.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

OBD Certification Engineering Lead - RAM Platform

  • Responsible for environmental compliance related activities. Applies specialized knowledge of engineering and/or project management principles and practices across various areas and projects by interpreting, communicating and ensuring all environmental regulations and standards are adhered to as they impact the company products, processes, components or facilities.
  • Applies technical expertise on complex components or projects and work under minimal supervision for regulatory compliance efforts and other applicable programs.
  • Participates as a key contributor and be accountable for cross-functional project success with various stakeholders.
  • Analyzes and communicate information to many internal stakeholders as it relates to environmental compliance matters. Identify, establish and/or facilitate meetings and trainings on compliance.
  • Leads small projects or portions of large projects.
  • Works with subject matter experts from related groups to drive efforts to improve environmental performance or compliance processes and identify opportunities to establish common processes and tools.
  • Supports defining and executing corrective actions
  • Communicates with and influences key external stakeholders and business leaders, escalates compliance issues as appropriate.
  • Assists with the transfer of knowledge; coach and mentor less experienced compliance personnel.
  • Demonstrates depth of knowledge of engineering or environmental discipline(s) and leverage expertise on other projects. Proposes innovative initiatives and projects.
  • Escalates and drives resolution to compliance questions and issues; provides technical direction for a project or a project team.
  • Troubleshoots complex problems and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Participates as a key contributor and is accountable for cross-functional project success with various stakeholders.
Qualifications

Skills
  • Environmental Acumen - Leverages environmental topics and trends related to air, exhaust, water, waste, sustainability, and/or materials; uses environmental data to solve problems, understand business impact, protect and improve the environment while also making a positive impact in human health and well-being.
  • Environmental Standards and Regulations - Analyzes technical and legal documents, enabling interpretation and further communication of content resulting in clear definition of requirements to the business; works in conjunction with subject matter experts and business units to develop strategies and plans for meeting requirements; information to be shared broadly with cross functional groups within Cummins.
  • Environmental Regulatory Compliance - Champions compliance with environmental regulatory requirements imposed on industry by local, state, provincial, national, and international organizations including air emissions, waste water discharges, natural resource consumption, waste generation, spill prevention and reporting, and emergency response.
  • Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Action oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related technical or scientific field required.
Experience
  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. Experience across organizations and global regions preferred. Knowledge of the function being worked in preferred.
  • Act as liaison for any North America certified product related communication with Environmental
  • Canada (ECCC)
  • Diagnostic Lead Responsibilities: Engage with program engineering leadership on product strategies
  • including timing, architectures, and financial impacts.
  • Communicate and manage diagnostic development schedule and status (eg. MDL)
  • Ensure diagnostic requirements for each program are clear.
  • Raising OBD specific questions,concerns to product leader.
  • Provide direct diagnostic support for each program\xe2\x80\x99s development (eg. Design Reviews, Calibration
  • Team, Tech Team/ Engineering Integration Team, Failure Incident Reporting Group, etc.)
  • Monitoring of pre-Product Vehicle Evaluation , Demo and Deficiency and Concern Tracking and
  • Removal
  • Monitoring of diagnostic capability and In-Use Performance Ratio analysis and improvements
  • Ensuring Field Test and Test Trips will enable program and certification needs will be met
  • Lead/coordinate the OBD certification package submission for given platform
  • Manage and Answer agency OBD Cert Q&A
  • Raising OBD specific questions, concerns to product leader
  • The role is currently individual contributory role with scope for adding reports in the future.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
