Mel Johnson School is a Nursery to Grade 12 school with approximately 104 students located in the community of Wabowden which is a one hour drive south of Thompson, Manitoba along Provincial Highway #6. This attractive community of approximately 700 residents is surrounded by scenic attractions such as Sasagiu Rapids and Pisew Falls and the area's natural beauty and clean lakes provide for an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities. The community also offers services such as a grocery store, health centre and hotel.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education Degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for) A sound knowledge of Manitoba curricula Previous teaching experience A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology Strong classroom management skills Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life Experience working in a northern community Experience working with students with unique needs A commitment to differentiated instruction A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn Self-motivated
