Position Summary



In this role, you will play a pivotal role in both our pharmacy and clinic settings in our addiction clinic & pharmacy, assisting with a range of administrative tasks. From filling prescriptions and managing inventory to handling patient inquiries and booking appointments, you'll ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our pharmacy and clinic. What sets this position apart is the opportunity for you to leverage your nursing expertise within our small and tight-knit team. As a Nurse-Pharmacy/Clinic Assistant, you will have the chance to practice within your scope as a nurse, assisting with pharmacy clinical services, naloxone education, medication reviews, immunizations, and providing support the addiction doctors. The Nurse - Pharmacy Assistant will have the opportunity to practice nursing and clinical skills. Based on training/experience, this may include:

Immunizations / injections Phlebotomy Health education Naloxone education Medication reconciliation Point-of-care testing Telemedicine Case management Collaborating with the doctors Wound care

Pharmacy daily tasks



All Kroll functions Receiving phone calls Refill requests New prescription faxes, etc. Prescription filling Unfills Medsync and autofill Report printing Adding new patients Adding coverage Keeping accurate profiles Adding notes as needed Cleaning and tidying duties Organizing space and workflow Managing supplies

Prescriptions



Entering prescriptions Counting and preparing prescriptions Completing refill requests Methadone and suboxone scripts Creating accurate and complete blister packages Billing blister packs Running batches Third party billing All required documentation i.e. ministry billing codes, nutrition forms NIHB and other third party billing Troubleshooting billing Consent forms

Customer service



Friendly, fast, efficient and exceptional care Answering phones All till functions Coordinating and setting up deliveries Answering questions Coordinating care between our locations if needed Booking clinical services appointments or other appointments as applicable

Inventory Management



Managing drug orders Narc counts Inventory counts Return to stock Managing minimum and maximum in Kroll drug cards McKesson (sending and receiving orders, looking up prices, reports, etc.)

Pharmacist Support



Help with supporting the pharmacist's practice, organization and dispensary workflow, clinical billing assistant, accurate preparation of all blister packs, prescriptions, reports, etc. Understanding the scope of a pharmacist, referring all patient questions to the pharmacist, looking for opportunities to inform patients about the role and scope of a pharmacist, identifying opportunities for clinical services.

Organization



Organization of day and tasks, working as a team with other pharmacy staff, efficient, time management. Working with the pharmacist and technician to enter and prepare all scripts, coordinate checking of all scripts, answer questions and direct to the pharmacist as needed. Working with clinic locations to optimize patient care and collaboration.

Clinic Administration



Booking appointments in EMR system Handling phone calls / emails for appointments Booking clients as per provider request and preference Navigating EMR site and provider schedules Changing or canceling appointments Creating accurate and relevant appointment notes Understanding general principles of booking appointments Understand provider preferences around booking appointments Explain all divisions and services to patient Book repeating appointments Demonstrates confidence in booking appointments, answering questions, etc.
