Come and be part of an evolving multidiscipline team building on the foundation of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Liver programs at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. Three NP positions will work collaboratively to support patients in hospital and the community; cross coverage is expected. These NP\'s works to full scope and are expected to provide leadership and participate in program development and quality improvement. These positions will be based out of Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre with an expectation of supporting chronic GI and liver disease patients across the zone with outreach clinics and telehealth. Hours of work are fulltime and may vary with clinical operations.

Description:

The Nurse Practitioner, reporting to the Director of RDRHC Emergency, Cardiac Sciences and Ambulatory Care, will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including medicine, nursing, psychology and pharmacy. They will provide direct patient care using advanced assessment skills and knowledge of clinical therapeutics for assessment, diagnosis, intervention management, referrals and management of patients with the GI and liver disease across the continuum of health care services. Provides leadership and actively participates in program development. Consistently exercises a leadership role in utilizing best practices. Accepts responsibility for continuing education and competencies through ongoing professional development, research and quality activities.

Required Qualifications:

Master of Science in Nursing Degree supplemented by completion of a recognized Nurse Practitioner Program. Active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). The NP is responsible for ensuring that his/her registration is current, valid and entered on the NP Roster of the CRNA under the Health Professions Act.
