Position Overview

Reporting to the Director Health Services - Public Health-Healthy Living & Primary Care/Francophone designate and the Manager Health Services - Primary Health Care in a matrix reporting structure and working collaboratively within the My Health Team, the Nurse Practitioner applies current nursing and medical theory, key knowledge, and critical thinking skills to strive to improve the health for clients within the Mon equipe sante, linking Francophone communities.


The Nurse Practitioner applies current and relevant nursing and medical theory to allow for the contribution of knowledge, development and involvement in advancing the principles of primary health care. The incumbent also demonstrates competency to teach and mentor others and models collaborative practice.


The incumbent is fluent in French in both written and oral forms and supports the promotion of French language services at all times.


The incumbent will exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Sante Sud.

Relevant du Directeur(rice) - Services de sante ou de la personne designee francophone et du Gestionnaire - Soins de sante primaires dans une structure matricielle organisationnelle et travaillant en collaboration avec Mon equipe sante, l'Infirmier(ere) praticien(ne) applique les principes des soins infirmiers et la theorie medicale en cours, les connaissances cles, et la pensee critique en vue d'ameliorer la sante des clients au sein de Mon equipe sante qui fait le lien entre les collectivites francophones.


L'infirmier(ere) praticien(ne) applique les principes des soins infirmiers et la theorie medicale en cours et pertinents favorisant la contribution des connaissances, du developpement et de la participation en vue de promouvoir les principes des soins de sante primaires. Le ou la titulaire demontre egalement une aptitude a l'enseignement et a l'encadrement du personnel infirmier et donne un bon exemple de la pratique collaborative.


Le ou la titulaire du poste maitrise le francais oral et ecrit et soutient la promotion des services en francais en tout temps.


Le ou la titulaire du poste beneficie d'un niveau d'initiative approprie et fait preuve d'un jugement independant pour determiner les priorites de travail, les methodes de travail a utiliser et les mesures a adopter pour traiter les questions inhabituelles. Les fonctions du poste sont exercees d'une maniere conforme a la vision, a la mission, aux valeurs et aux politiques de Southern Health-Sante Sud.

Experience

Two (2) years' experience in a clinical nursing or community health setting is preferred.

Experience:

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Masters of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Stream or equivalent educational preparation as approved by College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) required.

Formation (degre/diplome/certificat):

Maitrise en sciences infirmieres, volet infirmiere praticienne ou formation equivalente approuvee par l'Ordre des infirmieres et infirmiers du Manitoba (OIIM).

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Active practicing membership on the RN Extended Practice (EP) Register of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and the scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Certification/permis d'exercice/enregistrement:

Actuellement inscrit et membre en regle a titre d'infirmiere praticienne ou infirmier praticien et etre titulaire d'un certificat a cet egard de l'Ordre des infirmieres et des infirmiers du Manitoba et le champ d'exercice defini par la Loi sur les professions de la sante reglementes.
