Nurse Practitioner - Part-Time

Job Responsibilities and Description:

The Vancouver Infectious Diseases Centre (VIDC) is expanding its clinical team and is seeking a compassionate

Nurse Practitioner

to join us on a

part-time basis

.
VIDC engages marginalized and vulnerable communities affected by HIV, HCV, substance use, and other chronic infectious diseases. Through our "Four-Legged Chair" model, we integrate medical, research, outreach, and patient support services to promote long-term engagement in care.
The Nurse Practitioner will provide culturally safe, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care, with a focus on patients receiving treatment for

HCV

and

opioid use

.

Expectations and Tasks:

Provide primary care and chronic disease management, including initiation and monitoring of evidence-based therapies. Assess, diagnose, and manage

HCV

and other infectious diseases. Support patients engaged in ongoing

OAT

programs, ensuring safe prescribing and continuity of care. Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centered care. Participate in outreach initiatives, including community pop-up clinics, to extend services beyond the clinic.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Strong clinical knowledge in infectious diseases and substance use care. Experience working with marginalized populations, including people who use drugs and individuals experiencing homelessness. Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed practice.

Educational/Professional Requirements:

Nurse Practitioner (NP) designation with current registration and good standing with the

British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

. Minimum 1-2 years of NP clinical experience, ideally including HCV and OAT care.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50.00-$80.00 per hour

Vancouver, BC V6Z 2C7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
