This is a rewarding opportunity at the Cross Cancer Institute. The CCI is a standalone multidisciplinary comprehensive cancer center where innovation, research, academics, and clinical practice collaborate to deliver tertiary cancer services to Northern/ Central Alberta, and portions of BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. Over 1,000 staff work at CCI in over 20 treating disciplines including more than 100 physicians and 300 nurses. Each operating day at CCI, more than 300 ambulatory patients are seen for consults, systemic treatments, and procedures and 275 patients are treated with radiation. In addition to ambulatory care services, the CCI inpatient care program includes 56 beds. The CCI reports up through CancerCare Alberta, a provincial program within Alberta Health Services. PLEASE NOTE: The Alberta Union of Nurse Practitioners (AUNP) was certified by the Alberta Labour Relations Board on December 20, 2021, as the bargaining agent for all employees of Alberta Health Services (AHS) who are nurse practitioners performing advanced nursing care or nursing instruction.

Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved NP program at a minimum of a Master of Nursing level or equivalent. Current registration with CRNA (College of Registered Nurses of Alberta) as a NP. Successful completion of the controlled drugs and substances education, jurisprudence and continuing competency requirements as required by CRNA. 3 - 5 years of clinical experience relevant to oncology. Willingness to complete additional education and/or certifications specific to area of practice. Demonstrated excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities and good organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with several health care providers across the continuum of health care. Ability to work independently with self-motivation and self-direction.
